As
a young man, I was seduced by Italian Art, its graceful finesse and
the wonderful diversity it offered. Time passed and my knowledge in
the subject grew. The study of Italian art eventually became more
than a profession for me; it grew into an all-consuming passion and
a life’s work.
Seventeen years later, I feel that the years have richly rewarded
my efforts. My gallery in the Louvre Antiquities is a noble space
showcasing the jewels of Italian furniture; jewels worthy of the finest
palettes. After all, the creativity of Italian Art is limitless, bound
only by the manifold forms it takes and the dazzling myriads of colors
it has for inspiration.
In it we find distilled the essence of the vibrant country itself,
the Italian sun resplendent in its glorious hues, from dawn to fiery
dusk, saturating the design of the furniture and giving the impression
that it glides through space.

Italian
artists have traditionally given special attention to the ornamental
arrangement, reflecting the image of nobility and high clergy of
the times. Intricately composed, the structures they created have
nevertheless retained an enduring simplicity, subtly interwoven
with motifs which give away their complex and studied nature.
Compared to the art of the other Western European countries, the
Italian genius remains unique, leaving behind a lasting mark on
the history of Europe. The beautiful furniture featured on the site,
ranging from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries is a living testimony
to this enduring quality.
Whether you are an amateur or a passionate collector, we hope you
will contact us and visit our galleries where it will be a pleasure
for us to guide you through the treasures of Italian Art
